Health care is improving its methods to provide the best care possible to patients with less invasive methods. AI technology is working its way to helping the healthcare system do just that. An application called the Hippocratic AI was launched to be the first "safety-focused Large Language Model (LLM) designed specifically for healthcare" (Hippocratic AI, 2023). This AI was built to focus on non-diagnostic, patient-facing applications. This assured patient safety along with increasing healthcare access and outcomes.
The use of Hippocratic AI can help change the world of healthcare that no other technology has been able to do. The benefit of the company is that it was founded by a group of physicians, medical professionals, administrators, and AI researchers from various healthcare facilities, universities, and tech companies around the country.
This is a great start to changing the way we use technology to help the community. Embracing AI, especially in healthcare, is a good thing. It could eventually mean less invasive surgeries, treatments, and better recovery outcomes.
